8.30am: Dubbo City Council has granted conditional approval to a 28-lot residential subdivision in the face of opposition from neighbours.
Kintyre Estate residents raised concerns about access and other infrastructure at a meeting on Monday but the development proposed for the city's west gained unanimous support from councillors.
8.20am: Excited shoppers are already lining up outside Aldi as the store gets reading to throw open its doors in Dubbo!

7.35am: The Newell Highway is closed in both directions 30km north of Moree due to a truck fire.
Motorists can use the Canarvon Highway and the Mungindi-Goondiwindi Road via Boomi as an alternative route. This route is suitable for all vehicles but will add more than one hour to the journey time.
Emergency services are on site working to put the truck fire out.
Motorists are advised to avoid the Newell Highway and allow extra travel time.
