The musical comedy, which targets children between the ages of four and 10, tells the story of Ivory Tinklefinger, who has the job of trying to put the audience to sleep. However this becomes increasingly difficult when her piano gets its own ideas and her lullabies come alive, having the opposite affect to what she intended.
The performance has a small cast of three. Carolyn Connors plays Miss Tinklefinger while Dan Witton and Renato Vacirca are Bass boy and Rhythm Boy respectively.
"While the show is aimed at younger children, the feedback we have had is that older siblings and adults are also entertained," Mr Witton said.
"There is something for everyone. At some time all parents have trouble getting their children to sleep.
"When we are children we are excited by the unknown but as we get older, the unknown almost becomes scary. This is a reminder that sometimes we need to embrace the unknown."
After a stint on Broadway earlier this year and performances in capital cities, Mr Witton said the cast and crew were excited to be bringing the performance to venues in regional areas.
"We have been to great places, performed in big and small theatres and now we are really looking forward to coming to Dubbo," he said.
There will be a meet and sing-along with the performers of Still Awake Still! between 4pm to 4.30pm on Thursday, with bookings essential by phoning the library on 6801 4510.
