The Dubbo side were unable to end the dominance of Orange in the State League competition but pushed the 18-time champions the whole way before eventually going down 56-47 in the decider.
Meanwhile, St Collegians continued to show they are the team to beat in this year's local competition with a dominant major semi-final win over Apollo Phoenix in Rawson Homes Premiership action.
The win means Saints advance straight through to the grand final while Phoenix meet Apollo Illusion, who beat Apollo Zircons in a thrilling minor semi-final.
