Her team, St Devils, finished second in the B-grade White division of the local competition and then came the announcement that she has been selected as part of the Western Region Academy of Sport Netball Program for 2015.
In July, Emily attended the WRAS Rookie Camp led by Australian Diamond and former NSW Swifts netballer April Letton.
The camp was held at Bathurst with 80 other hopeful girls in attendance.
As a result of the Rookie Camp, 50 girls were invited to return for a weekend of selections in August and Emily was the only player from Dubbo chosen in 2015 Western Academy squad.
"Rookie Camp was a great experience," Emily said.
"I loved the challenges they gave us and I think I learned a lot there."
The netball program provides an intensive training program which includes skill development, camps, strength and conditioning, optical screening, sports science testing, education and personal development.
Next year's academy groups also get the opportunity to take part in the Netball World Championships being held in Sydney in October 2015.
"I am really thrilled to have been selected for WRAS and I am looking forward to the program starting," Emily said.
A spokesperson from Dubbo Netball said the association was very proud of Emily and her selection.
"Dubbo has a great track record with WRAS and Emily will do Dubbo proud," they said.
Emily is putting her excitement aside for the moment to concentrate on the upcoming semi-final against St Hotshots on today and then attend selections for Dubbo 17s later in the week.
"The team will be working hard for a win this week," Emily said
"A win will just top off this great week."
