8:50am: A national recall has been imposed for Infinity electrical cables, but residents in Dubbo should not be alarmed.
Testing by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission found the casing around the cables will degrade prematurely and insulation could break and expose live conductors, resulting in possible electric shock or fires if the cables are disturbed.

If it was an episode of Friends, they would have called it 'The One With The Friends Reunion'.
As the 20th anniversary of the hit TV comedy which defined the 1990s draws close, three of the six cast-members of Friends appeared in a reunion which has stunned fans.
Former Friends star Jennifer Aniston was appearing on the Jimmy Kimmel Live program when the host, and self-confessed Friends fan, asked her to participate in a skit performing a piece of scripted "fan fiction" he had written.

8:15am: THE OWNER of a ticket that won $1 million in Monday Lotto last week has claimed his or her prize.
The winning four-game Monday Lotto entry was purchased at South Dubbo Newsagency.
It was the only first division-winning entry in Monday Lotto draw 3374, which offers a guaranteed $1 million division one prize for up to four winners in every draw.
While the player was registered, NSW Lotteries had difficulty contacting the lucky winner for several days, according to a spokesperson for the organisation.
The winner wished to remain completely anonymous.
The win was the second big win in eight months for South Dubbo Newsagency, which sold a $50 million division one-winning entry in Powerball draw 919 on December 26, 2013.

8:00am: It's the highlight on Narromine's social calendar this weekend - the annual Narromine Show is upon us!
The Narromine Show Committee is encouraging everyone to get involved with this year's show.
There are plenty of categories and activities for everyone. Narromine News' Grace Ryan has been flat out this week - have a look at the Narromine Show Preview and what you can expect to see and do over the weekend.

DUBBO: DUBBO City Council stormwater education officer Karen Hagan traveled to St Pius X Primary School to spread the message that "Dubbo drains are just for rain".
DUBBO: A visit to drought affected areas in the state's north west has revealed to NSW Premier Mike Baird just how desperate the situation is and it is hoped it may lead to more assistance for farmers from the state government.
Mr Baird and Agriculture Minister Katrina Hodgkinson were invited by the NSW Farmers Association to fly out to Weilmoringle, near Brewarrina, on the Queensland border and talk to farmers and their families, as well as see first hand the devastation the drought has caused.
