What makes it worse is this is the second time in two months it has happened.
Tuesday night's break-in has hit the Dubbo based organisation hard, with the intruders leaving extensive damage to the building along with taking $1600 from the security safe.
Emmanuel Care Centre manager Geraldine Tosh was lost for words.
"It's very upsetting to think this could happen," Mrs Tosh said.
With three regular staff members and more than 30 volunteers involved within the organisation, Mrs Tosh said the repercussions of the break-in would greatly affect the community.
Emmanuel Care Centre comes under the auspice of Emmanuel Care Incorporated, which is directed by a committee of 12 volunteers from various Christian Churches in Dubbo, and exists to fulfill the legal requirements for the Department of Fair Trading.
The organisation assists individuals and families who are unable to manage the rising cost of living; particularly in the area of meeting financial obligations and household responsibilities.
"People rely on us", Mrs Tosh said.
"Both back doors have been destroyed, along with other office furniture."
"The staff and volunteers all work so hard here, and to have people come and do this - it's heartbreaking."
Mrs Tosh said the stolen money will greatly affect the running of the organisation.
"We use the op-shop takings to cover bills, rent and food for the people we help."
"It's a low act," she said.
"The help and donations we receive from the community is what keeps us going."
"We aim to help the local community and now to have this happen to us twice, it's very sad," she said.
Mrs Tosh said the police had been informed, with forensics expected to inspect the crime scene no later than today.
