The awards, which began in 2006, celebrate Australiana. Winners of both the prose and poetry categories win $500 for outstanding writing with an Australian theme.
The Rolf Boldrewood Awards are named in honour of the Dubbo author of Robbery under Arms, who wrote about Dick Marston and his associations with bushrangers in the goldfields of Australia in the 1850s.
Entries close Friday September 26 and the awards will be presented to the winners at the Dubbo branch of the Macquarie Regional Library on November 1.
Last year’s winner in the prose section Beverley Lello recently had her work published in Award Winning Australian Writing 2014, highlighting the wide recognition writers gain from their work.
Entry forms are available from the library or from the library website mrl.nsw.gov.au.
