A jumping castle, face painting and a sausage sizzle are just a few of the activities available at the fourth annual Walk With Me event.
Walk With Me will be held on Saturday September 27 from 10am to 2pm at Victoria Park.
The walk itself, which goes along from Talbragar Street to Macquarie Street to Church Street will leave Victoria Park at 11am.
Northcott Western NSW regional manager Cameron Luckie said people should come and walk with a mate and take the time to acknowledge someone with a disability, learn about the challenges they faced and celebrate their abilities.
"One in five Australians are living with a disability, that means most people will know either a family member, friend, neighbour or colleague that deal with a vast array of challenges on a daily basis," he said.
Walk With Me ambassador Jennifer Perrow said people should come along to the event to find out what services were available for those with a disability.
"I want a lot of people to know how it is to feel like us. I'd like to see a lot of other people come on the day to see people with a disability and how it feels to have a disability."
The day is part of a series of events being held throughout Australia to raise funds and awareness for Northcott, a not-for-profit disability service provider. Money raised from the event will go towards funding services such as respite, family support and life skills.
