Madgwick was the winner of the event in 2011 runner-up the following year, and after edging in front of Walker early during the final, she was able to go on and win the prestigious title.
"It is really good, and I'm very happy because Mary is hard to beat because she's just so consistent, I got lucky," Madgwick said after the win.
Due to the handicap system in the competition, Walker had to give Madgwick four shots thoughout the round and one shot on a par three was a huge boost for the eventual winner as she went on to claim victory 4-2.
"I needed every one of those," laughed Madgwick when asked about the four shots.
"But I think my game was steady all the way through."
Walker admitted Madgwick was the better player on the day and said being runner-up was something she was used to.
"It's my sixth final and I won it in 1983 and 84 and I've now been runner-up four times," she said.
"We both played well but Jeanette was just too far ahead and I had to pay catch up for the second 18 holes."
The Violet Yuille is one of the biggest competitions at the club and is a time-honoured prize which all winners are honoured to have their name on.
There was also a huge turnout on the day for the Dubbo Lady Golfers regular round and the field was decked out in yellow as they raised money for the Cancer Council as part of the Daffodil Day fundraiser.
