Residents are being encouraged to go behind bars and spend time with the stars at the Old Dubbo Gaol's open air cinema, which will be screening a different movie every Saturday night throughout the month of September.

Kicking off on Saturday, September 6, the first two screenings of the month will be adult sessions, while the final two screenings of the month will take place during the school holidays and will be family sessions.
The movies scheduled to screen throughout September include The Shawshank Redemption, Scary Movie, Despicable Me and Muppets Most Wanted.
Old Dubbo Gaol operations supervisor, Merrin Starr said ticket prices for each movie would be $10 per person, making the open air cinema an affordable outing for residents and families.
"Gates at the Old Dubbo Gaol open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start and there will be drinks, pizza and snacks available for purchase on the night," Ms Starr said.
"We're encouraging everyone to bring their pillows, blankets and sleeping bags and rug up for the event."
