A Eumungerie-based group has been recommended as the recipient of $1500 to put up a fence at the village's cemetery and a $1250 allocation is proposed for Dubbo West Preschool's project.
The pair are set to become the biggest winners under the latest round of Dubbo City Council's financial assistance program.
Altogether 15 local not-for-profit groups will share in the $10,000 available if recommendations by a council committee are approved next week.
Finance and policy committee chairman Allan Smith said the council invited applications from local not-for-profit organisations for its financial assistance program biannually.
"The funding is designed to assist local community groups to develop initiatives that will benefit members of the wider Dubbo community and encourage involvement in the many community programs within the city," Cr Smith said.
"This is the first round of funding council has offered for the 2014-2015 financial year, with the last round of funding in the previous financial year providing $10,000 divided among 13 recipients."
Dubbo West Preschool applied for more than $48,700 from the program and was recommended to receive $1250 by community services director David Dwyer.
The Eumungerie Progress Association applied for $1500 and Mr Dwyer said in his report it had not received any funding previously from the program.
"Council is fortunate to be able to continue to provide community organisations with a financial boost to pay for resources that can help them deliver integral services to the residents of Dubbo," Cr Smith said.
