The league is the opening sport of the annual contest between the two schools before the other seven matches take place next Monday and Wednesday.
Tomorrow's clash may be affected somewhat by the expected withdrawal of some CYMS and Macquarie players who are looking to avoid injury in the lead up to their club finals.
Despite that, it is set to be an entertaining match and St John's Sports Co-ordinator David McAlister believes it is just one of his school's strongest sports.
"We'll be competitive across all sports as always," he said.
"Our boys' soccer is strong, they're playing on Friday in the statewide quarter-finals so that will be a good lead up for their game on Wednesday. They're normally pretty good, we've got a couple out but it shouldn't weaken us too much. "The netball is strong too, the girls have just come back from the state age knockout and they won their division."
Both schools have their stronger sports but McAlister believes the more open events will be the ones which decide where the Cup will reside for the next year.
"A lot of the time it always come down to the volleyball and tennis, whoever wins those usually wins the Cup," he said.
Senior Campus will be keen to reclaim school glory after being beaten by St John's last year and then finishing at the bottom of the pack in the Astley Cup and they will fancy their chances of getting the upper hand in the league, tennis and touch football.
While there is surely to be a healthy rivalry between the two schools, McAlister said the Ken Eggleton Cup, now in it's 14th year, was a unique event and one both sides enjoyed.
"We don't play each other a lot in sport so this is a really good chance to bring us together," he said.
Tomorrow's match will kickoff after school, 4pm at Caltex Park.
