The Fishies ran in 17 tries during the game with Keiran Shipp bagging six of his own while Blake Tremain-Cannon finished with five four-pointers.
Marshall Sing scored a double on the wing while Tim Ryan, Alex Ronayne, Colby Pellow and Jyie Chapman also got their names on the score sheet against a depleted Forbes side which had many players backing up from reserve grade.
"I thought we started probably a little bit down on attitude but once we got into it we were really good and we're very happy with that leading into a tough game at Nyngan next week and the finals," Tremain-Cannon said after the victory.
"You don't have too many days like this when everything goes well and games like that can be hard to stick to your structure but we did that today and that's why the points continued, we still kept our shape."
After a quiet first five minutes the game burst into life when Tremain-Cannon, Sing and Shipp scored in quick succession to get out to a 14-0 lead and this was extended when Alex Ronayne, who cause havoc for the Forbes left side defence all day, produced a great offload to put Colby Pellow into space and he then found Tremain-Cannon for his second.
Tremain-Cannon had four within half-an-hour when he was on hand to finish off another two attacking raids before Forbes got on the board just before the break when Ben Orcher ran 40 metres to make it 30-4.
CYMS scored three tries within the first five minutes of the second half and the century looked a chance when fullback Shipp scored another two either side of a Pellow try out wide.
Forbes were looking for the fulltime whistle when there was still 20 to go but the Fishes were ruthless as Chapman and Sing produced impressive individual efforts to score.
Inside the final five minutes Shipp scored twice more either side of Tremain-Cannon's fifth and he felt his five-try performance was proof of him starting to return to top form.
"It's been a while, too long, but it's always nice to score a few and hopefully we can get a few more before the end of the season," he said.
"I haven't been running the ball as much as I've wanted to so I focused on doing that today."
Forbes coach Brad McMillan praised CYMS but said there were no positives for his side and admitted it was hard to find motivation at this time of the year.
"Very disappointed, we had a few of our first-graders playing reserve grade and a couple of blokes didn't turn up and it's getting to the end of the season and we can't make the finals," he said.
With the minor premiership in CYMS' possession for second consecutive year Tremain-Cannon said his side was in a good place but added the Fishies were cautious not to repeat last year's effort, where they went on to finish the season as runners-up.
"The confidence is good, we're just being mindful of not getting ahead of ourselves, we haven't won anything yet and at the end of the day there's only one game that counts so first of all we've got to get there and then we've got to make sure we get the job done," he said.
