The clubhouse, behind Paramount Tennis Club, has been in need of an upgrade for some time and it now features a revamped kitchen, a more open area for more games to be played while the whole clubhouse has been given a newer and more modern look.
The classic card game has a strong following in Dubbo and Bridge Club secretary Jane North said the renovations were needed to improve the club further.
"We've been there for seven years and we noticed we needed more space and for the place to be brightened up," she said.
"We cater for events which other clubs come to and it's more comfortable now knowing more people can fit in."
North said the larger space in the clubhouse was a huge benefit as more games could be played at one time, while the competitions involving other clubs could now be bigger as well, with the club hosting three events during the year which drew players from far and wide.
"We've got 150 members and three regular sessions a week as well as one every fortnight and once a month, so it almost works out to four times a week," she said.
"The most we could fit now is about 120 and that's about 30 tables and before it was a squeeze with 20 tables."
While it improves the club's current standing North said another positive is the fact the club can now welcome more members and players to join in the competitions.
"People of all ages can play and while most of our membership is older we do allow beginners to come along and listen and learn," she said. "It's competitive and challenging and you play in pairs or sometimes in teams and there's incentives in that there's a Australia wide scoring system so you can see where you rank."
Dubbo Bridge Club meets at the clubhouse every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The results for last week were David and Helene Lander winning north/south event on Wednesday while Denise Gough and Peter Marshall were victorious in the east-west.
On Thursday Helen Wilson and Jane North finished first while Cindy Xu and David Lander were second and Saturday's games saw the Landers again win north-south and Anne Hazleton and Sanjay Singh win the east-west event.
