Frenchman Quentin Lefort has become a favourite with his RSL 78s team-mates but will return to his home country after this weekend's clash with Macquarie.
After coming to Dubbo in March to work with the Smyth family as an au pair, Lefort quickly joined up with RSL due to Brett Smyth's involvement at the club.
The 20-year-old slipped seamlessly into the team and has become a key part of the side's front line, banging in a number of important goals during his time at Dubbo.
"He's fun and lovely, we'll miss him because he's blended in so well," Brett's wife, Penny Smyth, said.
"He's been one of the strikers, he's scored some goals so the team will miss him too, I can definitely say that."
The goals haven't been the only talking point from Lefort's game with him interestingly being yellow-carded one game for giving his opinion on a decision in French.
There's no denying the man nicknamed "Frenchy" has had an impact on Dubbo soccer during his time here but Smyth said her family would miss him the most due to the close bonds formed in recent months, especially those between Lefort and the Smyth children.
"I've got a 14-year-old son, Jacob, and Quentin is just like an older brother to him," she said.
"I've got an eight-year-old son, Tye, too and the boys are always kicking the ball around or wrestling on the couch like boys do."
Lefort will run out for the final time this weekend at 3pm for RSL 78s' match against Macquarie United.
