Mr D'elbroux will compete for Cobar in the biennial National Competition showcases the skills of the best young VET students, apprentices and trainees.
Competitors battle it out for titles of Nation's Best in their category and the chance to become a 2015 Team Australia Skillaroo.
The Skillaroos will head to the Worldskills International Competition in Brazil in August 2015.
A recent study for WorldSkills Australia found 95 percent of people in regional NSW thought trade-based careers were aspirational, but almost two thirds wouldn't travel down that career path.
It also found eight out of 10 regional NSW residents believe the VET sector is underfunded, but 27 percent did not even know what the word VET specifically meant.
Mark Callaghan WorldSkills Australia CEO said information about the VET sector is readily available.
"I'd encourage every person in Cobar who has a passion but isn't sure where to start, to head to their local TAFE or private registered training organisation and ask some questions," he said.
"These organisations offer training across a diverse range of areas, ranging from fashion to automotive engineering."
Mr D'elbroux said he has gained more than an occupation with his job.
"For some people university makes sense, but I was always attracted to being a bit more creative and working with my hands, he said.
"I love what I do, and I'm grateful that I'm able to benefit the local community through my job."
