Although the final score was unimportant, as the main purpose of the day was to raise funds for the breast cancer support group.
Member for Dubbo Troy Grant and mayor Mathew Dickerson, turned into on-field enemies for a day.
Mr Grant played for the victorious ambulance team, despite being a former police officer himself, and Mayor Dickerson pulled on the police team kit.
The event was a curtain-raiser to the Dubbo Rams and Lithgow Lazers Waratah league clash, and it certainly got the 100-odd crowd fired up.
David Daly and Hayden Howell dominated for ambulance, which lead police to pose a fake arrest on the pair at three quarter time and a $50 bail to get them back on court.
Howell was bailed back into the game, but Daly sat out the rest of the game, but the damage was already done.
Mr Grant looked the goods as he warmed up, but couldn't perform when the match began.
He looked quite different without his glasses on and poor conversions proved he probably should have worn them.
To look at the pair Mayor Dickenson looked more professional, but Mr Grant just out-skilled the mayor.
"Dicko shoots worse than me which is saying something," Mr Grant said.
Mayor Dickenson suggested a bit of foul play, but said he enjoyed the event all the same.
"Not that I'm sour grapes, but the ambos obviously had it rigged," he said.
"It was good fun, it's great to see the community involved in such a great charity event.
"Thanks to the police team for letting me be involved."
Despite throwing his weight around Mr Grant said he thought some calls were questionable.
"Everyone was in great spirits. But I was robbed by the umpires a bit," he said.
"It's a great cause, it's a pleasure to be involved."
My Grant said he enjoyed the match, but was glad his teammates were on call to help him out.
"It was great fun," he said.
"I'm glad I was on the ambulance team, not for the scoreline but because they've got all of the resuscitation equipment I'm going to need."
The Pink Angels charity basketball match will hopefully become an annual event.
