The zoo was also presented with the award for Best Digital Presence.
This is the third consecutive year Western Plains Zoo has won the Best Tourist Attraction award and as a result will be inducted into the Hall of Fame for the Inland NSW Tourism Awards.
General manager of the Taronga Western Plains Zoo Matthew Fuller said the award was the result of a team effort at the zoo.
"Winning this award for the past three years is an outstanding achievement and wouldn't have been possible without our wonderful animals and our staff and volunteers, the support from Dubbo and surrounding communities as well as the thousands of visitors that come to the zoo every year," he said.
He said he is glad the zoo has been recognised for the unique experience it provides.
"Taronga Western Plains Zoo has a formidable reputation as a tourist attraction as well as for its work in wildlife conservation and education.
"The zoo provides lasting memories for the people who visit and is connecting people with the wildlife on a daily basis."
