He's had more involvement in the community than most people have in their lifetime and he's only 19.
His leadership career begun in high school where he was school captain in 2009 at Dubbo College Delroy Campus.
Daniel said he found this experience was one of his earlier encounters as a leader and it fuelled his passion.
"It was great to be able to learn, experience a lot about leadership and our community," he said.
Playing junior rugby league for St John's was where Daniel's hunger for leadership and community involvement was really sparked.
"I always wanted to be involved in leadership and the community since I played junior rugby league; when I got a bit older I was more than happy to help out," he said.
Daniel played in front row prop at local clubs St John's and CYMS for 10 years and in the Country Academy Program until a shoulder injury cut his career short.
Older brother, Charly, currently plays for St George Illawarra Dragons in the NRL and Daniel joked he never had the drive to play professionally.
"I was a good player, I just wasn't a fan of training; I didn't have the determination like my brother does," he said.
Charly is always happy to help out when he needs any league related advice though, Daniel said.
Daniel was a western regional mentor for Dubbo College Senior Campus in 2012, as well as a school captain.
"I mentored the younger kids and they could come to me if they had any problems," Daniel said.
One of his highlights was working with the IYLP (Indigenous Youth Leadership Program).
"It was great to see the growth of indigenous leaders in school," he said.
After he completed school, he studied a year of a Bachelor of Nursing at CSU, which he found to be an enlightening experience.
"It really opened my eyes to the industry. I'd wanted to be a nurse since I was 12, but I realised it takes a special type of person to do that and I didn't think it was me," Daniel said.
He deferred university to get more involved with the Dubbo Youth Council and in just his second year was voted the chairperson.
Daniel said his role in the Youth Council is something he is very passionate about.
"Leadership comes second nature for me, I love watching people grow," he said.
"I don't believe in telling people what to do, I prefer to listen to people and work together to make it work.
"Give them the tools and they'll do it themselves- I don't want people to rely on others too much."
Daniel is a bartender at the Dubbo RSL and in his spare time enjoys spending time with family and friends and helping out on his best friend's property.
Daniel still referees under-7s to under-16s junior rugby league games in Dubbo.
He plans on studying a Bachelor of Education in Primary Teaching at the University of Canberra next year and said he is excited for this next chapter.
"I'm really excited to learn about youth development," Daniel said.
"I'm so pumped. At first I was a bit conflicted, but now I think it's been the best decision for me.
"A lot of country kids move to Canberra, so I have a lot of friends down there."
