The group of 15 athletes were selected from a training camp in July which was the second phase of selection after more than 55 players attended the initial trials in early June.

The selected players will now have the opportunity to take part in further training under the guidance of experienced coaches, participate in several games and take part in a development tour to Sydney during the next school holidays.

Brian Plummer, head coach of the program, was extremely happy with the squad and their performance at their first training session.

"For their first training session together, they went really well, and it is good to see them working as a team already," he said.

"I, along with the coaching group, am really looking forward to working with the squad over the next three months and I am sure we will see some great results out of them."

Mr Plummer will be assisted by Bruce Hunt (Nevertire) and Lesley Hillam (Tottenham) throughout the program.

The squad will head to Forbes on July 27 where they will test their skills against other teams from throughout NSW and the ACT at the annual Forbes Junior Soccer Gala Day.

The squad will then have another three training sessions throughout August before their next match in early September.
