Ditto in a Box, developed by child protection advocate Bravehearts, will be rolled out to every NSW government primary school.
"The Ditto in a Box education pack is set to educate around 195,000 students from kindergarten to year 2, teaching personal safety skills and underpins children's instinctive understandings and feelings in a way that is non-confronting, safe and highly effective," Dubbo MP Troy Grant said.
"Children are vulnerable at a young age and it's important as parents, teachers and a community that we teach them vital safety tips to stay safe in a range of situations, from sexual assault to bullying."
The NSW State Government allocated $268,051 to support the initiative and the implementation of child protection education within the NSW personal development, health and physical education curriculum.
Ditto in a Box provides children with protective factors to build resiliency and empower them when faced with unsafe situations. The education pack contains five teaching modules on safety as well as warning signs, scenario cards, music and storybooks.
Principal Anne Van Dartel said Bravehearts would allow teachers to convey the message of personal safety in a fun and non-threatening way.
The use of colourful posters, flashcards, a fun activity book, story books, a DVD of the Ditto Show, Ditto's Keep Safe CD-ROM and music were all designed help to engage younger students and provides teachers and parents with the means to safely explore personal safety messages with young children.
The pack provides teachers with support and guidance when identifying harmed children, how to respond to a sexual assault disclosure, how or when the teacher should report and which organisations can be contacted for support, advice and reporting.
