LAST's week's competition at Dubbo Pistol Club started on Thursday night with a 7pm air pistol match. The cold didn't seem to bother the four-man squad and the results for Ryan Johnson-McNeil was well worth the effort.

Johnson-McNeil shot a personal best score and sliced 30 points off his handicap, leaving him only nine points off that 500 mark.
Warren Johnson scored the second place with Bob Dowling preventing an all Johnson podium.
The full results: 1st - R Johnson-McNeil 491,129,630; 2nd - W Johnson 504,68,572; 3rd - B Dowling 527,28,555; 4th - R Johnson 446,106,552.
Sunday's results were a mixed bag with five matches shot in all.
Range A was a hive of activity from early in the day. Paul Williamson and Paula Heffernan were hard at it shooting WA1500 in preparation for the state titles at Orange next weekend.
Paul was well and truly on his game shooting 1465,39, 1504; with Paula 1395,64,1459; not far behind. The club wishes them all the best for the state titles despite the forecast of cold conditions and snow.
Range C fired up for the sports/ centrefire match at 1pm. In sports, Helen Lord once again proved top of the heap with a confident performance. Adam Bell shot well again this week to claim second spot. Daniel White held on for third place. Steve Holmes was the only noisy person on the range shooting centrefire with service loads and scoring 416,129,565.
Back on Range A it was a professional challenge with the three starters in the unrestricted service match. Shaun Nugent proved too strong shooting 710,171,881 1st; ahead of Lloyd Malone 671,170,841 nd; and Greg Tink 531,300,831, placing third.
Finally on Range B three more members shot a 25 yard service match. Nigel Bourke was the man to beat, shooting 446,325,771 for first. Nigel's handicap is 184 now. Alan Chan came in second with 464,148,612; and Steve Holmes third on 513,89,601.
Next Sunday's event will include centrefire/sports pistol, black powder and service/WA1500 matches. Safe shooting.
