Turnbull, who earlier this year brought up the 1000th winner of her career as well as her first Group One win, has been splitting her time between the family operation at Bathurst and a Victorian base she's setting up with her partner Nathan Jack, but despite the added travel time and workload her thirst for winners hasn't stopped.
Prior to yesterday's meeting at Young, she had driven 184 winners across NSW during the 2013-14 racing season.
With the harness season stretching from September 1 through to August 31, as opposed to gallops season which ends on July 31, it means Turnbull is odds-on to once again break through the 200-win barrier this season.
She will have five drives on the six-race card, including the job of piloting an interesting runner in the opening event, the tab.com.au Pace (1720m).
Vienna Eyre (NZ) will be having her first run for the Steve Turnbull stable when she starts from gate seven.
The four-year-old Christian Cullen (NZ) x Tantalising Franco (NZ) mare hasn't raced since June 13, when she finished seventh of 13 in a 2600m event at the Ashburton track in New Zealand.
In recent times a number of trainers have had great success with imported Kiwi pacers, and Vienna Eyre (NZ) looks set to add to that tally.
Across the ditch she raced 39 times for just one win, but recorded 10 minor placings and despite not winning since October 2012 her recent form is good enough to suggest she will be hard to beat in an R0 event at Dubbo.
Another of Turnbull's drive likely to start a short-priced favourite is Lagoon Stride, which will go around in the Hogs Breath Cafe Pace (2120m).
Owned by prominent harness identity Emilio Rosati, Lagoon Stride has won five races and been placed on a further six occasions from 20 starts, for earnings in excess of $40,000.
The three-year-old will appreciate dropping back in class after going around against Nathan Hurst's potential top-liner Saloon Passage at Menangle at his most recent outing.
Tomorrow's six-race card will kick off at 1.13pm with the last race at 4.14pm.
