Zac is one of 12 students involved in the Bella workshop at the Museum of Contemporary Art, designed to hone the interests of those who possess a strong passion for art.
The 16-year-old said he has spent the past four days creating stop-motion films and artworks that express himself, but he said the best part of Bella has been developing friendships with like-minded people.
Along with the workshop, Zac said the students have also visited the Sydney Opera House and bonded over hot chocolates at a French patisserie.
"The Smith Family have done a great job of creating a relaxed atmosphere combined with the intense workshops," Zac said.
The Smith Family CEO Lisa O'Brien said the workshops are conducted under the supportive guidance of tutors and professional artists who assisted the students to build a portfolio.
"The Bella art workshop is now in its twelfth year and is opening doors to students to build self-confidence, develop their artistic talents and explore career paths available in the art world," Dr O'Brien said.
Zac said he hoped to have a career in the art industry one day, be it as an interior designer, teacher, curator or architect.
