Those words from American rapper Drake couldn't be more appropriate after the Warriors continued their resurgence from laughing stock to heavyweight with a 42-24 win over Gungahlin on Sunday.

Having lost every game last year by an average of over 37 points, the Warriors are now second on the table and have proved themselves as Canberra Raiders Cup premiership contenders.

They have already beaten top three sides Queanbeyan Blues and Queanbeyan Kangaroos this year, and have drawn with fourth-placed Goulburn.

Halfback Bobby Roberts, who moved to the club this year from Belconnen United, said they have the belief they can go all the way.

"I have no doubt we can, but I still think the Queanbeyan sides are the benchmark,'' he said.

"You heard the song in the sheds, start at the bottom now we're here, and that's the vibe we go with.

"We've been at the bottom, but now we've got the side and the potential to have a decent crack at it.''

He couldn't resist a good natured dig at the powerhouse Queanbeyan outfits in the process.

"They've got everything to lose. They've got the money, there's no secret about it,'' he said.

"They've gone out, the Blues especially, they've spent all their money to buy premierships, it didn't work for them last year.

"It's not a money thing here, the cultured turned around and the whole club is behind us.''

The Warriors appear to have every base covered to launch a premiership tilt under new coach Justin Giteau.

Their fit and aggressive forward pack is arguably the competition's best, they have strike power out wide, their defence is organised and Roberts and halves partner Ryan McQueen are in form.

Gungahlin could have moved to within a point of the Warriors with a win, and began well to lead 6-0 through a try to prop Hayden Pengilly.

West Belconnen hit back with three straight tries and led 16-6 at half-time, before pulling away midway through the second half.

The top four now appears virtually set in stone after Goulburn thrashed Belconnen United 48-18 in Sunday's other clash.

Gungahlin skipper Josh Ayers believes his side can still make the finals, despite being four points outside the top four.

He is also convinced the Warrriors are legitimate contenders.

"Absolutely. They're playing smart footy to their strengths with a great forward pack,'' Ayers said.

"They keep pushing off the ball and you're always running into a solid wall.

"They've added a few blokes but I don't know what 'Gits' [Giteau] is doing, but they're ten fold to what they were last year.''
