The men in green were runaway minor premiers in 2013 but were beaten in the grand final by Parkes and Tremain-Cannon said this time around the focus is on improving week to week.
"Everyone is going to training and doing the work and we're all working really well," he said.
"Last year maybe we peaked a bit early but it's all about building and Tim (coach Tim Ryan) has been getting us better and better each week."
The Fishies began the season slowly and were shocked in round one when they were held to a 22-all draw by the Roosters at Tom Knight Oval.
Tremain-Cannon said his side is a better team now but was still wary of Cobar, who recorded their first win of the season last week by defeating Forbes 42-40 in a high scoring thriller.
"We've improved considerably since then but they have probably have as well and you can't take any game for granted," he said.
"Their attack was good against us and when we played Forbes it was a hard game so we'll give Cobar the respect they deserve."
The Fishies have made one change to the lineup which comfortably defeated Nyngan in the top of the table clash last week with youngster Brayden Peachey promoted to the starting second-row while Alex Ronayne drops back to the bench.
Coach Tim Ryan said after last weekend's win it was the Fishies' best performance of the season and Tremain-Cannon agreed, stating his side was full of confidence at the moment.
"Everyone was sharp and it was good to see numbers 1-17 playing at a good level of intensity and playing to the lvel we're capable of," he said.
"This season we haven't fully fulfilled our potential but we're all mindful of the areas we need to improve and working towards that."
The action at Caltex Park begins at 11.30am with the under-18s while the first grade match will kick off at 2.30pm.
