Cox and fellow Australian representative Rebecca Bulley will conduct clinics for players aged upwards of seven at the Nita McGrath Courts on Sunday, July 6, each bringing a wealth of experience with them.
The 38-year-old goal shooter/goal attack ended her career in the highest fashion on Sunday when she was part of the Melbourne Vixens side that captured the ANZ Championship title with a 53-42 win over the Queensland Firebirds.
She finished her career as one of just four women to play more than 100 Test caps for the Australian national team, a two-time World Championship winner and a Commonwealth Games gold medallist.
Bulley is also an Australian representative who was crowned as player of the year for the 2010 ANZ Championship when she was part of the NSW Swifts organisation.
"We've got a very excited group of players in the association at the moment," Dubbo Netball Association coaching convenor Linda Macleod said.
"The television coverage the grand final got on Sunday and the fact Catherine was part of that winning time has just added to that.
"It's a very special opportunity for our players and coaches as well, because Catherine is a shooter and Rebecca a defender so we really will get all bases covered with the coaching."
Next month's visit won't be Cox's first visit to Dubbo, as she was part of a Sydney Swifts visit with fellow stars Amorette Wild and Ashleigh Brazill back in 2011.
But this time around the circumstances surrounding the visit are slightly different.
"The last time Catherine was here it was part of a Swifts program, and that was great because the clubs show a great interest in developing players," Macleod said.
"This is something that Catherine and Rebecca contacted me about and will be something they do of their own accord.
"That kind of gesture shows they have a genuine interest in bringing through the next crop of players.
"Netball in Dubbo is really in a strong position at the moment and I think having these kinds of visits will be good for both our rep players and our Saturday players, as well as our own coaches as well."
A clinic for ages seven to 11 years will be held from 4pm-5.30pm while those aged 12 years and older will be put through their paces from 5.30pm-7pm.
The cost of each clinic is $50 per player.
