Village Hotbake Bakery Café sponsored the major RSPCA fundraiser by creating colourful animal themed cupcakes, which were sold over the weekend and on the official day yesterday.
The limited edition furry friend cupcakes sold so quickly yesterday that more had to be created for the customers of Village Hotbake Bakery Café.
The bright cupcakes featured domestic animals such as dogs, cats and more exotic species such as lions, pandas and penguins.
One dollar for every cupcake sold will go to the RSPCA to help the not-for-profit organisation’s fight against animal cruelty.
Village Hotbake Bakery Café supervisor Emma Stevenson believes the cause behind the day attracted more people to buy a themed cupcake.
“I think they look really good but people want to give back to the community so that helps,” she said.
“I remember last year we also had a really good year.”
It is the fourth year that Village Hotbake Bakery Café has sponsored the local fundraising effort for the RSPCA Cupcake Day.
The cupcakes were also sold out at the Dubbo City Animal Shelter, which is run by the RSPCA.
