8.50am: Making lifestyle news this morning; Aussie kids are more likely to be smarter and fatter but also more likely to suffer abuse according to Australian Institute of Health and Welfare data to be released today.
8.40am: Long-running soap opera Neighbours has been the topic of entertainment news this morning as some of the inconsistencies in the series have been brought to light. When slip-ups happen - and they do, despite an extensive in-house database, and meticulous archives on fansites, where character biographies can run into the tens of thousands of words - it doesn't go unnoticed by the legions of the show's fans, many of whom have been faithfully tuning in since day one.

7.54am: Taking a look at today's front page. Statistics reveal an average of 1112 were in need of a job in Dubbo and neighbouring areas in the 12 months to February. The unemployed were aged 15 to 24 years and were in the Orana and Far West region. The Brotherhood of St Laurence provided the figure to the Daily Liberal based on its analysis of Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) data for the region.
The NSW youth unemployment rate was 11.8 per cent, but in the Orana and Far West region it was 14.1 per cent, and 17 per cent in the western suburbs of Sydney, according to the analysis.

Police have located the body of a man who was reported missing in KELSO this week. The man's body was located today by officers from Chifley Local Area Command and there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
A sexual assault case will be held in ORANGE court, despite the victim changing her mind. The Director of Public Prosecutions is pursuing attempted sexual assault charges against a Wellington man despite the alleged victim recanting her statement.
Prime Minister Tony Abbott considers US-style schooling with private industry involvement while on his trip to the USA. Mr Abbott is considering an unprecedented Americanisation of the school education system with radical changes that could see HECS-style fees introduced into new continuous school-and post school diplomas, and private industry playing a heavy role in course design and production.
Treasurer Joe Hockey hits back at claims the budget is 'unfair'. Mr Hockey has lashed out at critics of his first budget, saying claims his policies are ''unfair'' were reminiscent of ''class warfare'' from the 1970s.
7.23am: BREAKING NEWS THIS MORNING.
There has been a death at a COBAR mine site. About 11.15pm (Wednesday 11 June 2014), emergency services were called to a mine site on Louth Road at Cobar after reports of an injured worker at the location.
Recent reports state the mine is closed for investigations. The 26 year-old worker was trapped and rescued by co-workers. It is believed the Victorian man was cleaning debris about of a pipe and was sucked into it. Work Cover is investigating the death.
7.19am: What's making local news this morning.
TAFE Western and Aboriginal Community Reference Group have made a pledge to Aboriginal Education in DUBBO. A statement of intent signed by the two parties on June 5 is aimed at improving education opportunities and outcomes for Aboriginal people.The statement commits to ensuring a wide range of training opportunities for Aboriginal people as well as the identification of employment opportunities to boost the region's skill development in crucial industries.
An seven year-old from BROKEN HILL has won in the Dubbo Eisteddfod. Layla-Maria Grubb travelled eight hours to dance for the first time in the Dubbo Eisteddfod yesterday, but a first place medal made the trip worthwhile.
Postal jobs in DUBBO are safe despite the drastic changes made by Australia Post.The jobs of postal workers at Dubbo are safe, despite 900 jobs being cut by the struggling organisation yesterday.
Nurses at DUBBO Hospital are being placed under unnecessary pressure because the state government is not giving them the resources necessary to treat patients with mental health problems, according to unions. Both the Health Services Union and NSW Nurses and Midwives Union have expressed their concern at understaffing in the mental health unit, which they argue could put nurses and patients at risk.
High school students plan to perform Naden myth on stage. The father of murdered DUBBO woman Lateesha Nolan fears plans by a group of year 12 students to produce a play about Malcolm Naden will glamorise his daughter's killer.
WELLINGTON examines youth crime. "It's not long before midnight on Saturday and a highly respected local businessman and father hears his dogs barking. He races out the front door as a teenager runs away after smashing his windscreen."
People in the Ridge are encouraged to get a check up at the skin cancer clinic. The Ridge Medical Centre will hold a skin clinic on Saturday June 28, at 9am.The skin clinic is open for appointments, a referral is not necessary, this service is bulk billed.
The Voice of the Outback is coming back to Narromine this month. Talented singers from around the region gathered for the inaugural competition last year and judge, home-grown talent and former X-Factor star Jason Owen is expecting the same enthusiasm this year.
