Country representatives Kevin Gordon, Josh McCrone, Paul Vaughan and Beau Scott were accompanied by hospital staff visiting patients at Dubbo Hospital yesterday morning.
Along with spending some quality time with Dubbo patients, the boys were promoting the prevention of alcohol risk-related trauma in youth, otherwise known as the P.A.R.T.Y program.
Along with the work of Director of Medical Services at Dubbo Hosptial Dr Randall Greenberg has been working alongside the Royal North Shore Hospital and AAMI to create the P.A.R.T.Y program which is taking place on Monday, May 5.
“Even though we’re holding the program on Monday, it was just great to see the players interacting with the younger patients and having a brief chat about alcohol related trauma in our society,” Dr Greenberg said.
“We’ve run this program before, but we thought it was about time we tackled the rural areas.”
“We have various members of hospital staff who will be helping assist the program with demonstrations and in-depth discussions.”
Country representative Kevin Gordon was pleased to be included in the morning’s activities.
“It’s been great to get away from the training side of things and actually see the Dubbo community,” he said.
