A group of youngsters from the Macquarie Anglican Grammar School got the opportunity of a lifetime last weekend when they ran out onto the turf at Allianz Stadium and played a curtain raiser for the NSW Waratahs Super Rugby side.

The under-11s team played against fellow central west side Orange City Lions before the Waratahs took on the Bulls last Saturday night and they also got the chance to meet and have photos taken with stars like Israel Folau after the match.
The team was chosen during the first term of the school year based on the student's commitment and efforts during training and it was an extra special school holidays treat as the local side defeated Orange City by five tries to four.
Orange City are competitive throughout their junior and senior grades but the Macquarie side weren't overawed by the occasion and dominated the Lions in every aspect of the game.
Nick Connors, the teacher who travelled with the side, commended both sides for their discipline on and off the field and was proud of the way his school behaved in front of the big crowd at Allianz.
The boys then had the chance to watch the Waratahs and meet players such as Folau, who reportedly walked around the ground for close to an hour after his side's win, posing for photos and chatting to the aspiring youngsters.
