He said it was all in working hard as he collected prizes at a western horse event at Dubbo at the weekend.
His wins in two major disciplines at the Reining on the Plains meet were cheered on by his family members who have followed in his footsteps.
The Mendooran horseman was enjoying the third day of the competition yesterday.
He had some advice for granddaughter Kasey Bogie, 10, and other riders.
"Work hard and never stop learning," he said.
"Seek knowledge from wherever you can.
"People say I'm lucky but I work hard at it."
Mr Sciberras and his extended family were some of the competitors watched on by spectators at the Dubbo Showground.
Country music blared while riders vied for the last coveted buckle.
Guy Wiseman from Dubbo Equine Association said there were plans to extend the three-day event next year.
This year it had drawn entrants from the central west and western regions and could be a true battle of the sexes.
Last year Guy Laurie was beaten by wife Bec and they were back this year.
"Men and women compete on equal footing," Mr Wiseman said.
