Relay for Life will be back in 2014 and there are some exciting new additions coming, according to the new Orana Relay for Life chair, Karen Isbester.

Karen got involved for the first time last year when her employer entered a team.
She indicated that she would be able to help out and the former chair Noel Manning wasted no time in recruiting her.
She impressed so much that when the lead role came up, she was nominated.
"I was quite humbled when I found out a few people had nominated me. It's very exciting that people wanted me involved," Karen said.
"Relay for Life is such a great event. Everyone is so passionate and involved. Nobody gets paid but everyone wants to help.
"The event used to only run every second year but now it is an annual event and the interest hasn't dropped off. If anything, it has grown."
This year the event will be known as the 2014 Orana Relay for Life. The committee decided on the name change to incorporate everyone who is involved from nearby areas.
"We have some very exciting things in the pipeline. In the afternoon we will have a dedicated kids area with activities. That just reinforces that it is a family event and everybody is welcome," Karen said.
One of the things that makes Relay for Life special according to Karen is the impact it on the Orana region and on a wider scale.
"At a local level I can help and make a difference but at the same time, you know that you are part of something larger," she said.
"The 18 hours the relay is on is amazing. The oval is transformed and everyone comes together.
" There are no barriers, no judgements, just a community coming together for one important reason - to fight cancer.
"It's not just the money raised but also the friendships that are made from events like this."
Clancy Ford have come on board as major sponsors for 2014 and Rebecca said the theme will be Race for a Cure.
