The armed robbery on Tuesday night at a West Dubbo shopping centre is the second such incident committed in the city within the past two weeks.
Police confirmed yesterday they were investigating if there was any possible link between the hold-ups, both of which targeted takeaway food stores.
They released images of a person of interest from the latest incident and appealed for the public's assistance.
A young man walked into the store on Minore Road about 7.15pm on Tuesday and threatened the attendant, demanding cash.
The woman handed over a sum of money and the man left the scene.
Detectives hope images may help in identifying a male they believe can assist with their inquiries.
The male is described as being between 15 and 19 years of age, tall, with a thin build, and wearing a dark-coloured hoodie with red writing across the front, dark-coloured tracksuit pants with the word "Champion" written in white down the side.
Police are urging anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: www1.police.nsw.gov.au.
Information provided will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
An armed robbery earlier this month hit a pizza shop in Erskine Street.
Police received reports of a man entering the store and threatening two teenage employees and a customer with a metal pole.
The man demanded money and was given a quantity of cash before he left the store and was seen on foot entering a nearby laneway.
No one was injured during the incident.
The man was last seen wearing black pants, a black hooded jumper, black work boots and had his face disguised with a piece of material.
