The carnival runs across three days with a different event held each day.
Good Friday involves a men's pairs competition, a men's three-bowl triples event will be held on Saturday, and Sunday is a mixed two-bowl triples competition.
Teams from right across the Western Region have joined with teams coming from as far away as Canberra and Forster.
A full contingent has signed up for Friday's pairs competition, which starts at 8.45am and involved three games of 15 ends.
All three-game winners will play off over three ends with the winners taking home $1000.
West Dubbo Bowls manager Anthony Brown believes it will be a close competition with quality entries.
"Picking a winner here will be like picking the Melbourne Cup," he said.
"It will come down to the luck of the draw, which is done on the players' arrival."
Orange Country Club have made their presence felt with nine teams entered on Friday, and six on Saturday.
Some of the strong teams for the event are Todd Longeran and Shane Partridge from Toongabbie, former West Dubbo Bowls manager Bruce Ball from Charlestown and former Dubbo junior Tim Farrell, who has come back to team up with another former local junior, Cooper Pike, who is at Canberra City Bowing Club.
Also showing strength on paper are local sides including Josh Andiske (West Dubbo) and Henry Gordon (Dubbo Railway), as well as Darren Connolly and Matt Thompson (West Dubbo).
Dubbo City star player Richard Clark is teaming up with Brown, and other teams to watch are young gun Jono Davis, playing with his older brother Jordan, and the club's Men's president Glenn Morrison and Harold Baker.
Saturday's triples start at 9am with three games of 15 ends and a play-off for three-game winners. The 26 nominated teams will compete for a $1500 first prize.
Some of the teams in with a chance include Tim Farrell, Matt Thompson and Darren Connolly (Forster/West Dubbo); Todd Longeran, Shane Partridge and Steve Robinson (Toongabbie); Adam White, Rick Massey and Bruce Ball (Charlestown); Josh Andriske, Henry Gordon and Alan Andriske(West/Railway); Jono Davis, Cooper Pike, Anthony Brown (Railway/ACT/West).
Orange Country Club also entered six teams, any of which can upset some of the favourites.
The final competition will be the two-bowl triples on Easter Monday and it involves three games of 14 ends and the winners will receive $1200.
So far 16 teams have entered and there is still time to get involved. Anyone interested in taking part should contact Anthony Brown on 6884 3000.
