The Shake n' Break Youth Week Festival is having a crack at once again putting the Dubbo community on the map.
Held at Victoria Park Number Three Oval from 1pm, the festival offers an afternoon full of activities, where the major attraction will be an attempt to break a Guinness World Record for the number of people balancing a book on their heads while walking five metres.
Dubbo City Council's Youth Development Jason Yelverton is positive the day will be a success.
"The current world record is 939 people held by Silver City in the Philippines."
"We're aiming to get over 1000 people to take part on the day so we can smash the record," Mr Yelverton said.
There is not a large criteria list to reach in order to participate, according to Mr Yelverton.
"All ages are welcome," he said.
"To participate in the world record attempt all you need is a book."
Following on from what the Youth Week Committee hopes to be a victorious moment, the participants will be asked to donate their book to the Tanzaroo Community Library project.
"This project aims to establish free public libraries in Tanzanian villages," Mr Yelverton said.
Along with the plan to smash the record, the Committee have included many more fun filled activities for the day, suitable for all families.
A guest DJ from New Zealand will be gracing attendees with their presence, along with the PCYC Games Truck, a Party Safe display, and fitness exercises with IPROWD.
There is also a shearing display planned along with many other sporting activities and an outdoor screening of Despicable Me 2 from 6pm.
