Despite the warm conditions the Cale Oval faithful were out in force as the Gorillas, who fell to a late try against Dubbo Kangaroos the previous week, asserted their dominance in the middle stages of the match.

After trailing 3-0 early, Narromine piled on seven tries to not only secure the win but also a bonus point.

"It's just what we needed after the disappointment of last week," Gorillas skipper Luke Brown said.

"We stuck to our gameplan, we worked them around in the warm weather and even though it was tight early once we wore them down we started to find a few holes in their defence."

George Quigley, Craig Campbell and Luke Thompson each scored prior to half-time to give Narromine a 19-3 lead at half-time before a smart try to fly-half Ryan Pratten in the early stages of the second half secured the bonus point.

Pratten was clearly the best player on the field as he continually pushed his forwards in the right direction and he was directly involved in a number of clean line breaks.

Tries to Lachie McCutcheon and Chris Light saw the lead blow out to 34-3 before Forbes scored their first try of the match in the 59th minute through winger Johnny Ward.

A late try to Brown capped off the win for Narromine, who will now enjoy the Easter break before heading to Cowra to face the Eagles in round three.

"It's not going to get any easier for us, that's for sure, but we're playing well," Brown said.

"We were unlucky not to beat the Roos last week, we played against a physical side this week and wore them down and we'll need to play that way again when we go to Cowra."
