Into The Woods director Jodi Cramond is pleased with the efforts of all the staff and students involved in the lead up to the show, which has been in the rehearsal stage for the past six months.
"We had over 100 students who initially auditioned for Into The Woods," Mrs Cramond said.
"It was a difficult process, seeing as there were 20 lead roles the cast."
Mrs Cramond said Into The Woods is a personal favourite of hers because of its clever script and variation of characters.
"The first half of the show shows all the fairytale characters we have come to know and love living their happy endings," she said.
"The second half however explores the consequences of these characters getting their wishes."
"It shows that there isn't really a happily ever after in life I think."
Mrs Cramond said she has had a great response from the audience during the show, both from the humour in the script and the musical items.
"We held a matinee performance for the St Johns primary students and it was just wonderful to hear them all laughing."
"There is a lot of adult humour in the second half which relates well to other audience members," she said.
Students involved in the production range from Year 8 to Year 12, with eight Year 12 students in the crew and nine in the main cast.
Stage Manager, Year 12 student, Nikita Jones was happy to spend the past six months assisting with the overall running of the show, rather than being on stage in the limelight.
"I asked to be Stage Manager because it's a great way to be more involved in the production as an all rounder," she said.
"This way I'm not just limited to one area."
Overall, Mrs Cramond said she is grateful to have directed such a wonderful group of students.
"I've been here for over eight years and this is the best cast I have ever worked with."
