Teenager Regina Irwin raising $2000 by herself and got her head shaved at a special St Mary's school event.
St Mary's students raised hope, money and awareness for cancer research.
Pip Smith said the children were enthusiastic and many of them backed the ladies who were going through cancer treatment.
"Ten-thousand dollars, what a great town Wellington is," she said.
"I went with cancer sufferer Terrece for chemo and asked what the Dubbo Oncology United needed and they said they were very short on wigs and funds for the DubboWig Library and the Look Good... Feel Good program they run for all oncology patients.
"So Sue Smith (no relation and a cancer sufferer) and I thought 'wouldn't it be terrific if we could raise some money for them?
"One wig costs $182 and lasts for two years and can be used by three to four patients.
"So we were hoping that you may be able to donate some money towards the Dubbo Wig Library that is used by oncology patients throughout the central west.
"If you are on Facebook could you please go onto the Dubbo Wig Library Volunteers Facebook page and like it so we can spread the awareness.
