Over recent weeks, players have been training in Central West squads.
After squad reductions following trial matches, the final 22 member squads have been announced with Parkes well represented.
They are as follows:
Under 13s - Luke Wright and Vincent Reilly; Under 14s - Luke Evans, Ben Davis, Rhys Ward, Lachlan Fisher and Jack Jones; Under 16s - Aaron Peters, Ryan McCracken and James McFarland; Under 17s - Quinn Green and Brodie Henderson; Under 18s - Simon Oliver and James Peters.
Junior rugby in Parkes has been steadily growing over the past couple of years and the hard work both on and off the field by players, coaching staff, administrators, parents and supporters is certainly paying off.
In 2013, the Under 13 Parkes Boars team were narrowly beaten in the grand final.
Many of these players have since been rewarded with seven members of the team earning well deserved representative honours.
It will be a busy couple of months ahead for the boys as they have their local 2014 season kick-off in April, NSW Country Championships in May, followed by the State titles in June.
In other junior rugby news, both Pioneer and NorthParkes Ovals will host games this Sunday, March 30, from 10.30am.
The Central West representative squads of Under 12s through to Under 17s will play invitational trial games against Daramalan College Canberra.
All spectators are welcome to go along and see what should be some great games of running rugby.
