Erika Chesworth and Emma Elliott, directors of the family operated business, said being able to support independent local businesses helped keep a community self reliant, as they held Little Big Dairy Co milk sample taste tests at Orana Mall yesterday.
"The point of a difference, which strengthens local businesses, lies in consumers wanting to put dollars back into the local community," Mrs Chesworth said.
She said for consumers, they can shop with a clear conscious and rely on the shop when buying quality products.
Bernardis IGA manager Glen Manson said consumers have always indicated how much they wanted to support local businesses.
"Now they have that chance to really support local businesses like Little Big Dairy Co and keep things in a circular motion where both consumers and businesses help each other," he said.
Mrs Elliott said it was exciting to see locals wanting locally sourced products.
"It's the trust consumers have that they're buying single sourced milk and the first fair trade flavoured milk available in Australia, helping support locals, even at an international level," she said.
She said the family operated business wanted their milk to be available to all Dubbo, so it was a "natural progression when Bernardis said they wanted to stock it".
Little Big Dairy Co started in October last year.
