Kevin Maloney's Segenhoe Stud own the three-year-old gelding, which has won his only two starts after not being considered talented enough for metropolitan racing.
But his arrival in Griffith's stables has been a boost for the premier bush trainer, who is hopeful the success he's had with the son of boom stallion Northern Meteor will open further doors.
"You always feel a bit of pressure when you're training for such a big owner but you can't let it get to you," Griffith said.
"If I do my job and have the horse fit and well, and he wins some races, that will keep the owners happy and down the track I might get more of their horses to train.
"Space Invader is the only Segenhoe horse I train at the moment but they own a lot of very well-bred horses so hopefully we can continue the winning run on Sunday."
After trialling unimpressively on multiple occasions in Sydney, Space Invader was sent to Griffith with immediate reward.
The gelding broke his maiden status with a narrow win over 1300m at Gunnedah on January 13 before stepping up to Class 1 company and putting four lengths on his rivals over 1600m at Tamworth on January 31.
The vast expanses and long home straight of Dubbo should suit the gelding, who drew awkwardly in barrier 10 but will race up on the speed under leading rider Greg Ryan.
"The improvement he showed from his first race to his second was very good and I've got no reason to think he hasn't improved again from that win at Tamworth," Griffith said.
"He's drawn badly but he's the type of horse that will go forward anyway and Greg will know where to be on him so I'm confident he will run a big race."
While tomorrow's event looks to be winnable, Space Invader will have some in-form opposition to compete against.
The Brett Thompson-trained Slate On Edge has won two of his past four starts while Rod's Bid, trained by Peter Bloomfield at Scone comes into the event on the back of a last-start minor placing on her home track.
