KANDOS: Artists Darryl and Kat Brown will have their work displayed in the centre of Sydney starting next month, as part of Taronga Zoo’s Wild! Rhinos Trail.  The Browns have painted one of 120 fibreglass rhinoceroses that will stand in the streets, parks and public spaces of Sydney, Dubbo and surrounds.

MUDGEE: The Bylong Valley Way has opened up a new avenue for tourism in Kandos and Rylstone, providing a scenic route from this region to Muswellbrook, and becoming part of a wider network of roads that can be traveled from Victoria to Queensland.

LITHGOW: A passenger had to be treated for smoke inhalation after a car was destroyed by fire at Marrangaroo on Sunday. The Toyota sedan was being driven in a westerly direction near the turnoff to Marrangaroo Fields when the engine began to falter and smoke erupted from the engine compartment when the driver moved to the roadside.

ORANGE: Scorching weather did not deter the crowds with Saturday’s Orange picnic races declared a success by organisers.  More than 1800 people flocked to Towac Park for the annual event and the reformatted day was a winner according to Orange and District Picnic Races Committee president Ben O’Halloran.
