Revised Bureau of Meteorology forecasts suggest the maximum temperature on Tuesday will be 37 degrees and not the previously predicted 40 degrees.
But the top temperature on Saturday and Sunday is likely to be 39 degrees.
Thursday's seven-day forecast for the city from the bureau suggests we will experience a maximum temperature of 37 degrees on Monday and Tuesday.
On Wednesday Dubbo residents may experience the first below-average maximum temperature since 32.9 degrees was recorded on Saturday, January 11.
The long-term average daytime temperature in Dubbo is 33.4 degrees, with the top temperature on Wednesday predicted to be 33 degrees.
Dubbo residents have been feeling the heat in the day and at night.
A run of minimum temperatures above the long-term average of 18.2 degrees began last Sunday.
Yesterday morning's 21.1 degrees may be exceeded by 22 degrees across the next three days before mornings become a degree or two cooler.
The bureau is reporting of the possibility of a thunderstorm on Sunday and showers on Monday and Wednesday, when there is a 50 per cent chance of between 10 and 20 millimetres (mm) falling.
Total rainfall in Dubbo this month was 25.4 mm as of yesterday morning, a little under half the long-term average rainfall for January of 53mm.
