March
Grandparents day was the first major event at Dubbo North Public School for 2013.
The library was excited to have 50 new books to add to its collection, thanks to the kind donations made by very generous parents and grandparents.
During March kindergarten, year 1 and year 2 participated in the school's annual Easter Hat Parade.
The school community then outlined the Bilby that is painted on the ground under the COLA with coins and this money was donated to sponsor the Bilbies at the zoo.

May
At the start of May, the senior SRC went to the Dubbo RSL to participate in a GRIP Leadership day. The day began by people showing us what talent they had, then they played heads, shoulders, knees and toes.
The leaders explained what it meant: heads - thinking things over, shoulders - carrying the load, knees - moving forward and toes - keeping balance.
The SRC talked to other students about aspecial fundraising event they have organised and met some new friends.
A terrific and beneficial day was enjoyed by all.
On Tuesday May 21, stage 1 students had an excursion to the zoo to learn more about how some animals grow and change.
They loved meeting Norman the koala and everyone gave him a pat.
The children also said hello to a children's python and a frog.
They thought it was very funny that Mrs Macleod was scared of both and tried to run away.
Students then had a very long walk around the zoo and looked at lots of other animals including the tigers, meerkats, gibbons, giraffes and elephants.
The teachers and students all had a fantastic day.
On Wednesday May 22, students at Dubbo North Public participated in a World of Maths workshops.
This was the inaugural presentation of the hands-on workshops at our school and was very well received by the children participating.
Two sessions were held in the hall to cater for different age groupings and stages of learning.
The children worked in small groups of four to solve more than 15 practical mathematical challenges.
The challenges covered all aspects of the maths syllabus including measurement, space and geometry, and number.
