The awards were presented by TAFE Western Institute Director Kate Baxter in a ceremony at the new Winhanganha Aboriginal Learning Centre at Orange on Thursday night.
Brigid Palin, Mark Picker, Jack Randell and Elizabeth Wright were all presented with awards for Achievement by an Individual, while Shane Kirby and Cara Schultz received one of four honours for Achievement by a Team.
Ms Palin and Ms Wright were recognised for their work with the Aboriginal communities, while Mr Picker ensured TAFE had a strong online presence and Mr Randell was acknowledged as being able to get the most from his students.
The pairing of Mr Kirby and Ms Schultz are head teachers who work hard to ensure students and customers receive quality service.
Peter Allen was presented with an award for Sustainable Practice for his work in converting the TAFE Western spray booth from using toxic solvents to water-based paints.
With more than 2000 staff in the organisation, choosing winners can be a difficult task but Ms Baxter said the winners were picked for adhering to the vision of TAFE Western.
"The Institute Director's Awards are judged in relation to the values and priorities of our Strategic Plan - delivering education and training that changes people's lives, exceeding customers' expectations, ensuring TAFE Western is a vital part of Western NSW; embracing new ways of doing business and developing and supporting a passionate and capable workforce," Ms Baxter said.
