Principal of newly established Orana Dance Centre (ODC) Hayley Mckernan yesterday welcomed her friend, Ben Davis to the ODC's studio and wider dance community.
Mr Davis held workshops with about 60 students from ODC and other dance schools to explore dance techniques "in a fun way".
Mrs Mckernan, who went to ballet school with Mr Davis said she wanted to involve other studios because "everyone deserves to have this sort of exposure to talent, especially out here in the west".
"It's important to show that everyone is welcome and not to have any rivalry and not just hold this sort of exposure to these sort of people to my school, especially for the kids," Mrs Mckernan said.
Mr Davis said it was a bit of good luck to be able to see Mrs Mckernan while doing her a favour at the same time.
"She's done so well to open this school and I thought anything I could do to help gain interest in the school would be amazing," he said.
"And it's good for the kids to see where they could perhaps head to one day if they keep working hard.
"I was very lucky to have had the time to be able to pop out here from my rehearsing schedule with The Australia Ballet's Sydney tour," he said.
Mrs Mckernan said it was a wonderful opportunity for dance students to be able to learn from someone so famous and talented.
"Not everyone is going to make it and the kids will see in him just what it takes, which will help them decide if they want take it further and move away or not," she said.
Mr Davis said being able to pass on 24 years of dancing experience to younger ones who are excited about it had been definitely well worth it.
"I'll definitely be back if they'll have me," he said.
