Geurie, Wongarbon and surrounding areas were struck with a fall of hail on Saturday but the damage was minimal.
The State Emergency Service reported yesterday there were no call-outs at Dubbo or Wellington.
Near Yeoval wild weather saw falls of up to 26mm while in Wellington only seven millimeters fell but it caused widespread trouble to the local race meeting where jockeys and the large crowd were forced to take cover as lightning strikes delayed the first race by almost an hour.
Local jockey Daniel Pitomac said the flashes of lightning were frequent and jockeys were not prepared to go out in it.
The race meeting was eventually called off after jockeys said there was a section of the track that was unsafe for racing.
Farmers harvesting their crops also stopped sending grain into local silos.
Wellington agronomist Michael White said Saturday's falls prevented farmers sending their product into the silos that day.
