Several race teams are set to descend on Dubbo this weekend for the second annual Dubbo Roar MX Open.
Team Berry Sweet Yamaha riders Craig Anderson and Luke Arbon are set to join the likes of Tye Simmonds and Errol Willis in the battle to take out the Roar Championship and win the $1000 prize money.
Meghan Rutledge, the fastest woman on two wheels is once again making the journey west and will be looking to teach some of the boys how to ride in the Lites brigade as well as take out the woman's class.
There has been a buzz around the motocross fraternity in Dubbo about the condition of the Morris Park circuit.
A quick visit last weekend revealed tonnes of sand dumped on the inside corners creating unprecedented passing opportunities as well as some perfectly groomed berms which will lead to some super quick corner speed for the pros.
The track surface itself looks prime with the dirt being well and truly broken up by continuous ploughing and the use of a rotary hoe.
Moisture won't be an issue as water has been pumped into the loose dirt all week allowing some decent ruts to form up once the big bikes get loose.
Some local riders to watch will be Sam Williams in the C-grade opens who is in form after taking out third place in the NSW MX State titles.
Mitch Mackay is looking to regain some pride after a disastrous race last year left him with a bent bike and a few bruises but could also be a contender if he can keep it rubber side down.
Nathan Lalicz is returning home for the weekend and could be a contender to take out the C-grade Lites if his fitness is up to scratch for the longer motos.
In the Junior divisions, Ryda Deveson will need to be riding at his best if he is to grab a top three spot in the 65cc class. Jordan Yeo, Bailey Atkien and Tom Geale have all been training hard and should finish well up the ranking in the 85cc classes.
Trent Wheatley will be looking to go one better in the Junior lites after a third place finish in the NSW titles.
Spectators will be well catered for with a full canteen and ample viewing areas around the track. Entry will remain at just a gold coin donation, allowing for cheap family entertainment.
Racing will start at 9.30am and should finish up around 3.30pm.
The race teams will be on hand to sign autographs and hand out team merchandise. Prospective racers are reminded that they should head to www.dubbodirtbikeclub.com.au to organise their entry forms or find out more information about the day.
