The fourth-generation, Dubbo family-owned baking business was given the Employer of Choice, sponsored by Western College; Apprentice and Employee of the Year, sponsored by Australian Business Apprenticeships Centre and Excellence in Products and Services, sponsored by Service NSW.
Directors of Earlyrise Baking Company Bill and Robert Stevenson said they were honoured and felt "excellent to have been given recognition through the Gold Rhino award".
"Over the next 12 months we really want to raise our profile and make people aware of our brand and products," Robert said.
"We're a local business, supplying local product and employing local people," Bill said.
With 90 people on the Earlyrise team Bill said their company daily distributed baked goods to a radius larger than 700km.
"Dubbo is a hub and service centre and we're a regional business, supplying to Dubbo and outlying areas ... country people should support country business and put money back into the local economy," Bill said.
"I think that's Dubbo's real strength..." Robert said.
"If you've got the right attitude, there are a lot of business opportunities here," Robert said.
With the motto 'baking it better' the directors said their executive team have a strong work and business ethic and consistently communicate through the different levels of the organisation to ensure the right things are done everyday.
"All the staff are encouraged to progress with training and get a career out of their jobs so their hard work has certainly paid off and we're really proud to see the self development and progress," Bill said.
The directors said everyone turns up and want to do a good job to provide quality products and quality customer service.
"If we don't have customers, we don't have anything," Robert said.
